Strength training: the master lever of midlife
If you could only change one thing, this would be it. Here's everything strength work quietly does for you at menopause.
Shatavi builds a strength plan around where you are now. Tell it how you feel, and today's session changes to fit. Miss a week, and your place is kept.
Launching on iPhone and Android. We'll email you when it's ready.
AI-generated imageMost fitness plans are built for a younger body and a predictable week. Shatavi is built for this stage: joints that need care, energy that varies, and weeks that don't go to plan.
Every rule that shapes your plan, and every word the app uses about symptoms, is written and signed off by a doctor.
Low on energy, or a hot flush mid-set? Tell the app, and today's session changes to fit. The reason is always shown.
Miss a week or take a month off. Your progress is kept, and your first session back is eased.
Most plans expect you to keep up with them. Shatavi keeps up with you, and it always tells you what changed and why.
Our clinical lead, a doctor, wrote and signed off the parts of Shatavi that decide what you're asked to do:
Doctor-built means the rules are a doctor's. It doesn't mean a doctor sees your data or gives you advice through the app: for that, your own doctor is the right person.
Built from a short quiz, then eased, held or stepped up as you train, with the reason shown each time.
A shorter version for full days, and it counts the same.
A chair and a wall are enough. Bands, dumbbells or a gym, if you have them.
Bones, hormones, training and recovery. Free, with nothing behind a paywall.
Your weights over time, your personal bests, and how far you've come since week 1.
A plain summary of your consistency, strength and wellbeing to bring to an appointment.
Sessions play without a connection, and what you do syncs when you're back online.
Everything reflows at the largest text size, and every screen has a dark version.

Not all exercise loads bone. The load has to travel through your skeleton — here's what that means in practice.
Never really exercised, or fallen out of the habit for years? This stage is a good time to begin — here's how.
No. Shatavi is an educational fitness-guidance app. It isn't a medical device, it doesn't diagnose anything, and using it isn't the same as seeing a doctor.
"Doctor-built" means the rules that shape your plan were written and signed off by a doctor. It doesn't mean a doctor is looking at your data. For anything about your own health, talk to your own doctor.
Yes, and many people start exactly there. Your plan begins at your level, and the first weeks build a movement base before adding any load.
The setup quiz asks a few safety questions. If an answer suggests checking with your GP first, the app says so plainly. During a session, stop and rest if something hurts: the sharp kind, not honest effort.
Nothing is lost. Your history stays where you left it, there are no daily streaks to break, and your first session back is eased so restarting feels manageable.
In the app, that reads: "You've been away, so we've eased this session to help you restart safely."
Very little. Sessions can use just your bodyweight, a chair and a wall. If you have resistance bands or dumbbells, or you go to a gym, tell the quiz and your plan will use them.
